i'm 16, 5 foot 6'' and i used to weigh 172 pounds, as a new years resolution i decided i was going to lose weight. now i am 117 pounds. i lost all that weight in 4 months, but it really wasn't easy at all. i cut out bread in my diet, and ate 3 full sized square meals a day and didn't snack. this kept my metabolism in order because i wasn't eating at weird times, or skipping meals. but if you need to snack then eat fruits and vegetables and nuts (try hazelnuts for a snack, they're really yummy and healthy). also you need to do at least half an hour's exercise 4 or 5 days a week, the only way you'll lose weight is if you burn more calories than you consume. there's gonna be times when you want to give in but you've just got to think how good you'll feel at the end :)

i promise you it's worth it. oh, and for the record, 127 pounds is NOT fat in my book :)

Like sometimes I think that maybe I'm not supposed to be here, and im not supposed to be doing what I am doing. Maybe I'm meant to leave the country, travel, meet extraordinary people. Sometimes I think I should quit college, and forget about making money in the USA and try to go to italy, and live a simple life there. It's so beautiful there. I think I would rather just live a simple life there, get married, and enjoy the beautiful scenery there everyday. Is that weird? Does anyone else ever feel like this?

It is normal and may be a calling or your soul trying to get to a certain place to get you on the right path for your life. Or it could be very strong past life memories and earning to have what you had in a different life...only you can tell the difference.

Do you have DejaVu? When a soul is on the right track you seem to have more of that sensation of already making that decision or like you did it before...when you are off the track you patterned before you can to live a new life you have none of those feelings. It is the sign posts in life.

I would recommend taking a trip over there on vacation and seeing what they offer and seeing if it is truly where you should be or if you just need a break and some down time from life as you have it now. If it turns out to be what you seek then come back and get all the official paperwork taken care of to get a school visa, work visa, or apply for dual citizenship what ever you need so you can be there legally.

Im a freshman I'm 15. I dont have many friends really. I have some i talk to in school but not like best friends. My best friend is my boyfriend honestly. Its spring break and on facebook all the popular girls in my grade are putting up pictures of them at the beach with their best friends and they are so beautiful and they have the perfect body and they wear the perfect clothes and they have all these friends and they seem to do ever thing right. they pick the right classes and become even more popular by becoming friends with popular upper classman girls. They start the trends. It's so frustrating. I don't think i'm beautiful. I'm not hideous. I'm passing I guess. I want to be a total hottie. i don't have a gorgeous body and perfect clothes and I'm just so unhappy I feel like I'm nothing and I'm not pretty and i don't know what to do. I just want to do P90X get a banging body and tan my *** off and get my bellybutton pierced and get my nails done and eye brows and buy a bunch of hot clothes and dye my hair. I just want to change myself because I feel like theres no other way for me to get over me hating the way I look and I'm sick of it. :"{ I'm just so unhappy. Hey everyone :( I'm not going to spill my life story out for you guys, but I will say that I feel like everyone expects me to be mature and grown up about things - I'm just meant to accept the things when they make me mad and just put a smile on my face. While that's all well and good, I feel like no one lets me have a day where I can just break down and cry for a change. I always try to stay strong but right now I can't - I just want to sit on my bed and cry. I feel like no one understands how I feel, even though they say they do, and I just wish that people would just let me act like a child for a change. You know, when other people are having a bad day, I always listen to them and I never tell them to stop being silly, etc. But when I have one, I ALWAYS get told to stop being a baby and to grow up and act my age, which is 16. I AM SO SICK OF IT. Why can't people just give me a break - why do I always have to be the mature one?

If you are 16, no one can tell you when you can and can't cry. They can not control your emotions or feelings. THey have to understand that you are still a kid, but you are going to grow up soon, since you are 16. I have the same problem. My 10 year old brother and I are always in charge of cleaning up after my 5 year old sister and her friends, my lazy parents, and ourselves. I don't mind cleaning up after myself, it's only fair to pick up what you made a mess of. But cleaning up the entire house every single day when 90% of it isn't your mess isn't right, but they say it is to make me learn to clean up after myself when i'm on my one. 1. I already know how to clean up after myself, I'm 14! 2. I already clean up more than just myself. They expect us to act older than we are. It is really frustrating sometimes. If I were you, I'd say to hell with it, and just let yourself cry. It isn't good to keep your emotions bottled up, it can make things worse than what they already are. Say it how you feel it and cry until you feel better, but remember to stay strong. GOOD LUCK :)

I live in Istanbul, and it has a lot to offer. It is the city I love best.

I had loved Barcelona. I had loved it more than London or Paris or Rome. It has something for every kind of tourist. If you love to swim, it has sea, if you want to shop, it has shops, if you want museums , it has museums, it has cable cars to see the city from.. It is a very tourist friendly city.

If you love history, Rome can be the city of your life. If you don't like history, you won't like Rome.

Although not in your list, I had loved Venice_Italy. That's a city different from everywhere.

Amsterdam is not in Germany but in Holland. It is a very nice city.It's the Venice of the north with canals and everything.

I went inter railing in eastern Europe last summer and i went through Croatia and Slovenia. I just passed through Slovenia, so i don't really know whats there. Croatia is a beautiful country, but some of its tourist attractions are some what limited when it comes to rail travel. The capital Zagreb is a nice city to chill out in, sit in pavement cafes drinking and eating ice creams n that kind of thing, It has a nice old town but doesn't really have any major world famous type sights or anything, its a very friendly relaxed kinda place though, which i liked. Plitvice lakes national park is a breathtakingly beautiful place, and Croatia's number 1 tourist attraction, however you cant get to it by train, you have to get the bus or a car (the bus from Zagreb was about ?7). Dubrovnik is also a nice place, but again, you cant get there by train. The train only goes down to Split (another very nice city) its then 3 hours by bus to get to Dubrovnik. I only very loosely planned my trip to allow for missing trains etc, the trains tend not to be all that regular, and if your doing long distances missing a train can delay you best part of a day if your unlucky, so best thing is to either totally wing it and not book any hotels/hostels or anything, or if you have booked accommodation before hand as i did then make sure you have planned ahead and know exactly where you want to go and when. I stayed in hostels during my trip in the Czech republic, Poland, Hungary and Croatia, all were decent with helpful staff etc. I didn't have any language problems as everyone knew enough English for me to be lazy and not learn any of their languages (all though i did try a little lol ). You meet lots of interesting people on the trains too, its a great experience. As for Italy, i haven't inter railed there, but have been there a few times....where do you start when it comes to places to see?!?! I think Venice is incredible! Hope this helps and you enjoy your trip! :)

We were both engineering students with different majors. I had feelings for her but I completely ignored it until the end of the year. I got to really like her and talked to her twice or thrice. Food:

Stay away from white grains like pasta, bread, flour, and rice. When eating grains go for whole wheat, it’s a lot healthier and has fewer calories. When eating meat, always go for lean or extra lean if available. Also stay away from junk food – of course! But, don’t demonize it, because if you are the type who loves their chocolate bars and you completely cut yourself off, you’ll only want them more. Cut down you junk intake to once a week, and on the day you have that chocolate bar make a mental note to get an extra 15 minutes of exercise that day.

Make sure you drink lots of water; it helps your metabolism and hydrates your body (obviously). If you don’t drink enough water your body will think its going to be starved, and will go into “survival mode” – this’ll cause your body to retain all the water you do drink and all the fat it can get because its preparing to be starved. Also, drinking green tea every morning increases your daily metabolism by 17%. You can take vitamin b complex to increase your metabolism as well. Try eating 5 small meals a day to keep your metabolism working, and never skip breakfast! Skipping breakfast will slow your metabolism for the day!

When you snack only snack on fruits and veggies – they’re nutritious and delicious! And low in calories. My doctor recommended eating a slice of cheese with a piece of fruit as a snack so your also getting protein with your fruit. Try to stop eating after 7 pm, and only drink tea, milk, or water after that. This’ll prevent you from going to bed with food in your stomach that won’t be burned while you’re sleeping; it’ll just get turned into fat that you don’t want.

Exercise:

For exercise, make sure you get AT LEAST 30 minutes a day, but I’d recommend 60 minutes. Do cardio exercise every day as well as strength exercises like push ups and crunches. Combining the two exercises will help to prevent having saggy skin once you’ve lost weight. Swimming can be a good strength exercise if you like going to the pool or lake – it tones everything at once and its fun! While you’re doing cardio (like jogging or running) make a routine that’ll challenge you but not over work you. Try running for 5 minutes then walking for 5. If that gets too easy try running for 6 walking for 4 etc.

I've been very uncomfortable with my body lately. I'm almost 15, weight 145 lbs, and am 5"0 tall. I have stretch marks on my chest, thighs, back of my calves, and my hips. Personally, I prefer a direct flight from the west coast though to avoid the potential weather delays in Chicago or on the east coast - I've had more problems with thunderstorms in Chicago in the summer than with winter weather over the years. Although returning to Italy from Denver in February, I was routed through San Francisco to get a flight to Munich because the entire east coast of the US was shut down by weather. Rather than starting in Paris, you might look into United flights to Frankfurt with a connection in Portland. Depending on when you go, the round trip airfare is less than half the direct fare (under $600).

Breakfast time is the same as here. Breakfast in Italy is usually a cup of coffee and something sweet. They do not have the big breakfasts like we do.

Lunch is usually around 1:00 and is a bigger meal than Americans have. Most stores close down at lunchtime and reopen around three or four in the afternoon. Many tourists are dissapointed to find out that stores do not stay open the whole afternoon like here.

Dinner is later than Americans eat. Most Italians sit down to dinner around 8:oo. If you walk into a restaurant in Italy at 5:00 or 6:00 you will find the place empty. Only the tourist eat that early.

I am Italian and have visited Italy a few times, so that would me where my knowledge of your question comes from.

If you plan on going to Italy, have fun and enjoy the food. The food is one of the best parts of visiting Italy.

I doubt that raw would be the cheapest way to go, but it may be cheaper than EVO. Pedigree, as you know, is not a good food, though. If you're looking for affordable AND good, I'd look at Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul (about $1/pound). For less than that, you could use Diamond Naturals Lamb & Rice (a lesser food than Chicken Soup, but loads better than Pedigree)...I have seen Diamon Nat. for as little as $23 for the large bags.

I did a three month tour of many countries one summer. I don't recommend it. It was too tiring, and I did not see enough within each country.

It's better to see fewer countries, and spend more time in each. Get to know locals.

Do you have friends or relatives living in Europe? Visit them first, and hopefully they can introduce you to people. That's better than only acting like a tourist and looking at old monuments (though you should do some of that too). But don't stay in the home of each group of friends/relatives for more than a few days at a time; you don't want them to tire of your presence or find you to be a disruption.

Be flexible, and willing to go where companions want to go. So, before leaving home, you should buy a thick travel guide for the whole of Europe.

Take pictures of people and unusual situations. That way, you can later tell the stories behind them. I don't recommend boring pictures of things you can see in travel books.

This means reading "How to Win Friends and Influence People", and other more modern books. I am in Australia and I have been feeding my dogs Science Diet, Eukanuba and Iams over the years. I honestly thought I was doing the right thing as vets and pet stores here all endorse these brands and they are seen as a better choice compared to what you get in the supermarket.

I have been reading so many bad things about these brands on the net with so many dogs having health problems due to the food. My 11 year old dog has been getting diarrhea on and off just recently and the vet said to change back to Science Diet, but after the negative feedback I don't think this is the right choice. I will probably order food online but I don't want to get food that isn't good for them.

It sounds like something I heard in Devil Wears Prada. I really hope that you aren't referring to that movie. This is the perfect way to:

1. ruin your metabolism (you'll eventually stop burning calories and will start gaining fat because your body wants to protect itself.

2. Make you lose muscle (no hot abs no "toned" look)

3. You'll have no energy (I would have said this even if you hadn't mentioned the fainting yourself).

I went on a diet where I ate only fruits for one day, vegetables, fruits the other day and so on and so forth. In other words, I have been on a starvation diet and I lost a bit of weight at first and then gained it all back. The worst part? At that point I had a lot of self control. It's really not worth it. Generally, 10lbs lost or gained = 1 dress size. To lose 10lbs in 2 weeks, that would require you to lose 5lbs a week, which is not healthy at all. A healthy weight loss goal is 1-2lbs per week.

That being said, you can definitely drop a few pounds (healthily) before your dance. Focus on eating fresh, unprocessed foods (fresh fruits/veggies, lean meats, fat free dairy, nuts/oils, whole grains, etc). Cut out all sugary drinks like sodas, and avoid any pre-packaged snack foods. It's also best to eat smaller meals every couple of hours. Try to fit in some type of cardio exercise (walking/jogging, biking, etc) for at least 30 minutes everyday.

Hello! I weigh 140 and I hold most of my weight in my upper half (the apple shape). I have a belly pooch (from being pregnant) and I have a lot of extra fat in my waist and love handle area, so right around the middle half of my body I have a LOT of extra weight. I am just wondering what kind of diet/exercises I should be doing that will help me get rid of this.

Now I know that it is possible, I am just having such a hard time. I do at least 90 minutes of cardio a week and I do about 1-2 hours of abdominal exercises a week, and cannot seem to lose ANY of this fat around my stomach. My upper abs are becoming extremely tight and lean, its just my lower abs, waist and back that need the work and it seems like nothing I am doing is helping.

I used to be 250lbs as a 5'7 woman. What you are neglecting is weight training. Cardio is nice and seriously, 1-2 hours of ab workouts are excessive (excessive doesn't give you results). Weight training adds lean muscle, which loves to eat fat...particularly from your midsection.

What you stated is that you are exercising in some fashion, but didn't list the type of intensity of your workouts, nor did you list your diet. Email that to me and I can help.

According to all the health experts you're suppose to drink a gallon of water per day in whatever increments work best for you. Since water is oh so tasty, I add a packet of Crystal Light or the equivalent store brand to every 16 ounce glass I drink. It's sugar free, but so is diet soda which is 99% water too, and no one recommends drinking a gallon of diet soda every day.

My question is am I defeating the purpose of drinking all that water by adding the flavoring?

I kept hearing about this...Justin Bieber, Justin Bieber, Justin Beiber...then saw some video where people were throwing things at him on stage when I was on Stumbleupon.com. I had no clue who this kid was and naturally had never heard of him before. Personally, I really wasn't interested either.

But...it got to where I couldn't even turn around once or twice..I wasn't hearing about this kid. So, I looked his *ss up on Google. I checked out a couple of his music videos, read some stuff about him...and to tell you the sdog honest truth? He's okay...moderately talented I suppose...but a lot of the "talent" it seems, in the videos and such, was in the music...not so much him. Nowadays there's a lotta Bing and Glitz in music...seemingly to cover up somebody's lack of talent. Anyway, I didn't think the kid was all that great.

I don't know why so many people are so hateful towards him...really, other than they are probably jealous of his fast rise to fame. Kids rich man...worth millions no doubt. Good lookin' kid too. Definitely not an introvert.

im only 14 and i AM aware that my body 'isnt done growing' but i am having issues with my body. i have a good upper body, my stomach is toned and my arms are average but my hips and thighs are just big! But thats not my main problem though, what im struggling with is loosing weight only in my inner thighs and not in my hips or butt because ive already lost some weight in my thighs and thats what got me from a nice butt to a barley there butt. So basically all im asking is what are some good excersizes that can give me my butt back and loose some weight in my inner thighs? Oh and my diet is pretty good, i always count calories and eat 700-850 calories a day & i eat healthy so i dont really need to worry about my diet :)

I think I have depresion. Should I go to the doctor?

In November I got sick (tonsillitis then food poisoning) and I lost a lot of weight (like 10-15 lbs.) because I couldn't eat. I figured I'd gain it back once I got better but I just lost more until my weight has stayed around the same for the last 2 weeks (Which is about 15-20 lbs. lighter than before I was sick). I found it really weird that I didn't gain any back because I wasn't eating as healthy as before. I was eating a bunch of ice cream and junk food like that because I was upset with that drama with my ex-boyfriend. I didn't gain a single pound back and the weight loss seemed to affect every part of my body, not just the fat on my stomach. My whole body seemed to get skinnier, my wrists, legs, arms, everything. I also haven't had a good sleep in a long time. I cried myself to sleep for just over a month and I still haven't managed to get a good nights sleep and I have the bag's under my eyes to prove it. I've also become very irritable, my parents say that I've been in a bad mood for an oddly long time. Due to all this loss of sleep and weight I have barely any energy and in my opinion, I'm much more out of shape than I was before. Today I also noticed I have had a stomach ache all day and it hurts when I laugh, etc. and sometimes when I breathe.(I do have my period but the pain is higher than the usual cramps and my cramps have never been this bad) It also hurts in my chest but I think that's from working out in the weight room at school. I'm really scared because I'm super sad, I feel hollow/dead inside, I can't eat or sleep properly, I have no energy and I'm really out of shape even though I'm in gym right now. I've also lost almost 20 lbs. in less than 3 weeks. I don't know whats wrong with me.

Before I get to my question here's some history about my ex-boyfriend and I. I dated my ex-boyfriend for a year the we didn't start on a good note with his mom...I had to spend the night over at another guy's house 2 weeks after he asked me out now before you get the wrong idea that I cheated on him I didn't. This other guy has been my best friend since birth and our mothers are friends and have been since elementary school. My mother didn't want me home alone over the weekend and she trusted them with me I had no other choice. I asked my mom to let me stay with a girl friend but she said no. I thought I would be a good girlfriend by telling him what was going on. He was hurt and right then and there he broke up with me. I explained to him that I had no other choice and that I did everything in my power to go somewhere else. He understood but he had already told his mother and she didn't trust me. He tried his best to clear things up but it didn't help. He apologized for not trusting me and we got back together. We were happy together for the next 4 or so months but he had to sneak around because his mother didn't approve. Through out the next few months we were on again and off again because his mother manipulated him. She threatened to kick him out because of me. I went on a cruise and the day before I left for sea he broke up with me and told me that his ex girlfriend was going to be at his house a lot I told him that I agreed we should break up but it was a lie. While I was on the ship I talked to him through messages on Facebook any free time I got to get on the computer. One of the messages from him told me he missed talking to me. When I got back from vacation he explained to me why he broke up with me because of his mother. Right before school ended his sister was run over by a truck and broke her back which added more stress to him. He talked to his mom over and over again during the summer to give me a second chance. She finally did. Once we were allowed to see each other we were always together until my mom decided that she wanted to ship me to Arizona. He didn't want me to leave at all so he proposed to me just to keep me here. We were each others first. later on I found out I was pregnant and I miscarried. I told him. The rest of the summer I was in and out of the hospital; I was so sick. At the end of the summer-beginning of our senior year in high school and I ended up having surgery to remove my gall bladder. He broke up with me again the day before surgery. I didn't know why but we both agreed to be friends. While I was recovering from surgery I had many friends visit me on one specific day I had a girl friend hang out with me, she had met my ex one time. I was depressed that "we" were over. I started wishing out loud that someone would talk to him about why he broke up with me this time. I had no idea she had his number. She ended up sending him a really long text that basically said he was stupid for breaking up with me and she cussed him out. He didn't have her number and I was talking to him, he said he thought one of my friends was texting him and he showed his mom and she no longer trusted me again. She told my friend that she would report her if she kept talking to him. We were both at the same school so when I went back it was awkward because we weren't talking and we go to a small school. I had met a few of his friends and they became my friends too. I went out to lunch with one of them and my ex got really mad. He messaged me on Facebook that night and told me he missed me again. We then got back together off and on again for the next month and then his best friend's little sister who liked my ex started rumors about me going around tell everyone in school about our business. He didn't believe me when I told him I did no such thing. We fought a lot in school a lot of yelling and what not one time I confronted him and he raised his hand as if he was going to hit me. We made up but it didn't last long which leads me up to now. It started as not talking in school but talking via Facebook; he would ask what was wrong with me. Now we don't talk at all and if I talk, not to him but other people he says some rude comment in return. He can't look at me; if I'm in his view he put's his backpack, or notebook or covers the side of his face so he won't have to see me. I've heard from other people and I overheard him say he hates me to his friends. He is now friends with the girl that said all those things to him. He forgave her but not me? When I told him he hated me he agreed and walked away.

I don't really appreciate Teen music, but I do enjoy the music of Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Pink, Miley, and a couple of others! I'm sure they are fine people too! Although, I think Ke$ha's music is a bit of a bad influence on teens though (partying, getting drunk, and taking off your clothes), but I definitely don't hate her.

It's really stupid of people to say that they "hate" celebrities, because they don't even know them. How can you "hate" somebody you don't know?

Can I just write him as, "Pope of the Catholic Church"? Or, do I have to be guilty of blasphemy by calling him Holy Father, and/or His Holiness? Weird, because I thought I only had One Holy Father, and that is God.

YES, There is no civil LAW which states that everyone must call him that. Especially if one is not Catholic.

Withdraw your contribution tax-free. Your RESP Provider can give you more details, and explain any conditions that apply to your RESP plan when your child does not continue education after high school.

Ok so I hacked my mates email and facebook because he wasnt replying to me and i hadn't really trusted him that much, but i went through his facebook messages to find some of mine he had read but hadnt replyed to, and i kept going through the pages of messages digging myself a deeper hole! and then i stopped to read a random one because I knew the person. And I just dug myself the deepest hole! I have no idea what to do, and I know overtime I will just blurt it out! I know im in the wrong for hacking his email and facebook but THIS !!!!! What the heck do I do! ?

Why do some people lose weight and have bunches of skin left and others don't? If I'm 20 and 280 lbs and I am losing weight how can I prevent this?

When someone is overweight, the skin stretches to accommodate the

increased volume of weight. After weight loss, the skin sometimes

fails to tighten back, and becomes loose, hangs or sags. It often acts

as a reminder of the weight you once had. There are some ways to fight

it.

1. Skin care.

- Start by exfoliating your skin daily in the

shower. The outer layer of your skin is made up of old, dried, dead

cells. Exfoliating will help the skins circulation and the balance of

skin growth.

- Treat yourself to a hot hour-long bath once or twice a

week. While the bath is being drawn, add 1/2lb of pure sea salt to the

water and allow it to dissolve. Besides relaxing your body and

muscles, it will draw toxins out of your skin and will improve your

overall skin tone.

- Aloe vera extract, soy protein and yeast extract

can improve your skin's elasticity by increasing your body's

production of elastin and collagen. It not only tightens your skin but

- Bicep curls target that nasty underarm hang. The arm skin that

hangs down has been called many things by its biggest haters. This

problem seems to be one of the ladies’ biggest woes and can be

targeted with bicep curls. It is important that when you tighten loose

skin by exercise you perform exercises that are toning the muscle, and

therefore the surrounding skin.

- Planks work that stomach flab. With your hands under your

shoulders, hold your arms out with your legs straight and toes holding

your legs up. You get the most abdominal toning with this exercise the

longer you hold the stance. The recommended time is 20 to 30 minutes.

- Crunches are painful but highly effective. When you are seeking the

ultimate way to tighten loose skin by exercise and targeting the

stomach skin flap, crunches can be the most effective. Crunches

provide complete toning for the abs if performed appropriately. The

back should be straight with the chin level, and you will raise your

torso to your knees, fighting the resistance. This will be one

exercise you will feel later.

3. Surgical Reduction

If neither fixing your lifestyle, changing your diet, or using the

above products didn't give you results. There is surgery, it is

expensive, but well worth the money if you get it done right and by a

good surgeon (research your doctors).
